This week’s Song of the Week was suggested by MIA reader Christopher Dubey:
“This electronic song by Oneohtrix Point Never invokes the name of a common antidepressant. It is mesmerizing and soothing. I’m not aware of the song having a specific message, but I found out recently the song inspired a poem with the same title by the late Rhiannon Auriol Mary Williams, a young woman who had shared a bit about her difficulties with psychiatric drugs on her Twitter account. I had also heard her talk a few times in an online group. She was pretty and sweet and it was sad to learn recently that she passed away in 2023. May she be at peace. And may her poetry and this song continue to soothe and inspire.”
